Pastor Julie Brooks

Julie Brooks has been a pastor for 24 years in the front range area of Colorado; serving churches in Westminster, Erie, Strasburg, and Longmont. Previously, she graduated form Lakewood High School and then received a BA in Psychology from St. Olaf College and an Mdiv from Luther Seminary, both in Minnesota. She currently serves on the Rocky Mountain Synod Council and Executive Committee; is a Trainer and Leader for the Synod’s Excellence in Leadership program; is trained as an Interim Pastor; and has completed the Contemplative Outreach Center’s two-year Spiritual Journeys course. She has had a brief foray into teaching college at Johnson & Wales with a class on public speaking. She practices centering prayer and is passionate about increasing capacity for the wholeness and health that God would have us know.

Her hobbies include skiing, hiking, painting and book club. She is a life-long learner and loves always to know more about things like history, nature, humans, the Bible, faith. She shares this love through teaching and sermons. She also savors experiential learning like travel that opens heart and mind to the amazing and diverse world and people that God so loves. 

Julie has three young adult children including a son-in-law, a husband named Dan and a small adorable dog named Mo.
