Michael’s journey begins in eastern South Dakota, ventures to southern Nebraska then Colorado, out to California and then back to Colorado. He’s a proud alum of Wheat Ridge High School (Go Farmers!) and Colorado State University (Go Rams!). In 1988 he married his high school sweet heart, Linda (go Tigers and Ore Diggers!) whom he met at Lutheran Church of the Master in Lakewood. They have two children, Nicholas and Leah (Go Eagles!).
When Michael followed God’s call to ordained ministry, his journey took him to Iliff School of Theology in Denver and eventually out to Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, CA. Then, in 2003, Michael was called to his first pastoral position, here at Holy Shepherd Lutheran Church and he’s been here ever since.
Pastoral care is one of Michael’s passions and he’s humbled to be invited into the holy moments in people’s lives. In times of celebration, sorrow, fear, and deep, deep sighs, God continues to shine with the good news that God’s love has NO boundaries, not even death. Yup, that pretty much transforms Michael’s life, every time and is eager to share that good news with you.
Michael is also passionate in utilizing photography as a spiritual practice. Through the lens, the Spirit reveals for Michael, the beauty, unity, life giving presence and transformational power of God. You can find some of these “revealings” on Michael’s web site: www.revealingspiritthroughnature.com.
Don’t hesitate to reach out to Michael and share some of your story. He’d love that and you may find yourself, invited to “Be still…” together with our God.
