Dave Gleason, Director/Chancel & Handbell Choirs

Dave is the Chancel and Handbell Choir director. He brings not only his directing talents, but also his composing and arranging experience. Dave has directed church music since 1992 and joined the staff at Holy Shepherd in the fall of 2002.

Dave holds a Bachelors of Music Education from Colorado State University and a Masters Degree in Choral conducting from University of Northern Colorado. He has taught public school vocal music at all levels during his career, and is presently the vocal music teacher at Green Mountain High School in Jefferson County. Dave is currently the Colorado All-State Choir Chair.

Dave has had some exciting musical experiences, such as singing at St. Peters in Rome for the 2000 Millennium Christmas Eve Mass, a two-week tour singing in the cathedrals of Spain, and singing in Berlin with the Cabrillo Chorus of Santa Cruz, California, premiering Eric Whitacre’s opera suite from the new opera “Paradise Lost.”

Music plays an important role in the life of Holy Shepherd and Dave enjoys being a part of this fine music tradition. He also loves Holy Shepherd’s very active, supportive, and friendly congregation.
