The Prime Time group, at Holy Shepherd Lutheran Church, was started in 1992 for those members and friends who were 55 years of age and older. The Prime Time Choir also began rehearsals at the same time and they have sung for worship services over the years. Focus of the choir is to sing the old time gospel tunes and to keep them alive for many of us who grew up knowing these verses. Weekly rehearsals are held from the fall season through late spring.
Prime timers have had various occasions for participation – tours of local interest, trips outside of our area as well as educational seminars, service opportunities and entertainment programs at the church.
One primary goal when the group was started was “Caring and Sharing” – our responsibility to keep in contact and communication with other seniors who may be facing health challenges, lifestyle changes, loneliness, grief, etc. We try to care for each other and we also take part in faith community and service projects.
