Hunger Free Hotline

Purpose:  Hunger Free Hotline Helps Those in Need of Food Assistance

Hunger Free Colorado has created the Hunger Free Hotline, a toll-free number through which people can get information on food assistance in Colorado. The hotline functions as a fast-track through the complex system of federal nutrition and charitable food distribution programs. Callers can receive guidance in english or spanish and hotline operators, called Resource Navigators, are equipped to ask callers a few high-level screening questions so that the resources they recommend are tailored to each caller’s unique situation. Resource Navigators can help callers find the answers to questions such as:

  • Am I eligible for food stamps (SNAP) and how to do I apply?
  • How do I sign my kids up for free school lunch?
  • Is there a food pantry near me?
